Moehwald – your partner in the area of injection systems
Diesel testing technology
Diesel testing technology
Suppliers and the car industry around the world bank on measurement and testing technologies from Moehwald for:
Common rail
Pump line nozzle
Unit injector
Electronically controlled distributor pumps and injection nozzles
Moehwald offers dependable high-precision testing technologies for controlling and refining the entire injection system as well as individual components.
The Moehwald portfolio of test benches covers the entire range of passenger cars, commercial vehicles and large diesel injection systems, from the development to series testing.
This applies to the testing of components such as injectors, pumps, rail and rail assembled components as well as complete injection systems.
In their provision, Moehwald banks on the modularity of its basic products such as the CA 4000, CRI4000 and LE4000, elaborating custom solutions with the client as required.
Functional testing in the product development phase, endurance testing, but also tightness, cleanliness and final testing in the series are all part of moehwald’s core competence in the area of diesel testing technologies.
A key component for the injector tests is our in-house developed and produced injection analyzer HDA.
Moehwald offers a wide range of testing technology, both in terms of product development, quality assurance, application and endurance testing.
The range includes both test benches for the gasoline direct injection components (in particular, high-pressure injectors and high-pressure pumps) as well as for the complete engine system (pump, valves, rail, engine control unit).
The portfolio for component testing is rounded off by endurance test benches for valves and pumps, some of which also cover extreme thermal boundary conditions.
For high-pressure injectors, the focus is on flow measurements, single injection-quantity measurement (using in-house developed and produced HDA), spray investigations in transmitted light or using a laser-light cut, and on nozzle leaks.
Depending on customer requirements, the test boundary conditions can be varied across a wide pressure and temperature range, to enable objective-oriented results.
For high-pressure pumps, equipment to functionally test for a wide range of boundary conditions is available. In terms of application, Moehwald’s test benches offer engine developers or applicators a highly flexible platform, in order to simulate a variety of engine operating conditions.
The HDA measuring device enables a comprehensive analysis of injectors with regard to injection behavior.
In addition to the injected mass, the injection curve with high temporal resolution is also recorded.
Due to 6 free analog inputs, synchronous maps can be recorded with only one device.
By feeding the injector control signal into the HDA electronics, a detailed timing analysis of the injection cycle is performed.
If, for example, the rail pressure signal is also fed in, the interaction of the injection on the overall system is also recorded.
Each recorded injection cycle contains a large number of curves and measured values which are available for detailed injector analysis.
The HDA is available in different volume ranges and can analyze injectors from passenger car applications up to high 2-stroke diesel (up to 25,000 mg/stroke).
